Politicians are public figures, ergo they do not have the same expectation to privacy as private citizens, so in that respect you are clear. However, since the shirt is political in nature there
may be some sort of issue, depending... (you know how people are about partisan politics as a mine field, especially in the US), but that's not a legal quandary, but rather a potentially political one.
In the end, the best people to run this by, as has been stressed in this thread and elsewhere on dvInfo, legal questions can only be accurately answered by lawyers who deal with entertainment law. I don't think it is an issue in this case at all, but I'm not a lawyer, so I can't really give you a qualified answer. None of us can (unless there's a shyster here that I'm unaware of). ;-)
