Can I transcode after rewrapping ?

I wanted to compare some of my own footage as rewrapped vs transcoded. So I did the rewrap and I have those files. Unfortunately my ADATA SDHC card decided to fail before I could do the transcode and I've lost the original MTS files.

So is there any way for me to transcode my rewrapped files ?

Yes, you should be able to as long as you have software with that capability. Can't say more without knowing what platform and software you're using.

I know our rewrapped files work with Apple Compressor, and should work with any other app that supports QT.

Thanks for the replies.

I'm on a Mac and have Compressor available.

Walks like a duck, sounds like a duck. Sure enough, it's still a duck.

But of course until I saw my rewrapped clip in the Compressor inspector I just wasn't sure it was the same duck. The whole wrapper concept is a bit odd to me.

So now I'm transcoding to ProRes and remembering why I don't use Compressor in the first place. It's soooooo slow.

Thanks again guys.
