Can ClipWrap transcode from AVCHD to HDV?
I am looking into going with the new Sony AX2000 or NX5U, which records to ACHD format.
Since this codec is hard to edit in FCP, due to it's compressed nature, and the fact that I would like to avoid transcoding to ProRes, due to extreme fiel sizes, then what I would like to know is if there is a way that the AVCHD footage can be transcoded into HDV using ClipWrap? I know that I will lose some rsolution by doing this, but my file sizes can be kept small, and I know that I can edit naive HDV easily in FCP. I guess is worse comes to worse, I could transcode and edit in ProResLT, as the files won't be so massive. But they still are pretty hefty. |

We don't currently do a transcode to HDV - just prores, AIC, dnxHD, etc. But that might be something we could add ... I'll put it on our todo to pursue further.
