Mpeg StreamClip Encoding time.
I just finished a 14 min. project.
the movie is 1080 25p, and I need to upload it to youtube. I am encoding to MP4 useing Mpeg Streamclip, with multipass on. Now does it make sense that the encoding is going on for around 24 hours now? I am using a HP XW8400 workstation (Dual 3.0 Ghz Xeon) And does anyone has any experiance using Sorenson Squeeze 6.5? Quality and encoding time wise (full HD mp4 for youtube)? Thanks! Arbel. |

You didn't mention the finished pixel dimension (1920x1080, 1280x720) you want your output to be, or the bitrate your using. The stuff I have uploaded to You Tube has been HDV 1080i, and at 1280x720 and 6000-7000kbps, and I don't use multipass. I check the bitrate not to exceed 6000kbps, and it actually runs about 500kbps more than what you set it at. I have done a ~5 minute clip, and it take about ~15 minutes to render, and that's with a P4 2.80GHz processor.
