Organizing DVD masters
We have produced a lot of DVDs, and I am looking for a good way to organize them?
How do you organize DVDs, and what software do you use? We are also located on 3 different places, 2 places for editing, and another one for duplicating. Is there any solution available so we can synchronize DVDs between 3 places so we can see who have/doesn`t have something Thanks for help |

I produce .iso files for each DVD and BD I produce. It's one file and everything's in there. I can then use IMGBurn to make disks on almost any machine. That's the simplest workflow I can find.
I will copy all the files I want to keep to a folder on an external drive. I break them up like this: -DV: Where I'll keep an SD version of the final output -Lossless: Where I'll keep the edited master. Rare I'll do this because they're huge -DVD: ISO file version of DVD master -BD: ISO file version of BD master -Graphics: External packaging and menu graphics in all formats -Music: If there's special music, I'll put it here. Hope that helps. |

I'm not familiar with cataloging softwares, although I'm sure there are options out there.
If I had to store DVD titles in 3 locations, I'd probably create a simple spreadsheet, something like this, and share it between locations. |

Re: Organizing DVD masters
Patrik, for an operation as large as your why don't you just network a dedicated server?
