Primera 'recommended' DVD method

Recently installed a Bravo XRP 2x DVD duplicator/printer and note the manual and Primera website make great deal of their recommended way to reproduce DVD video i.e. burn from Video_TS folder on HD rather than from dvd.

Primera state risk from variables (authoring, reading, copying, handling etc), I'm wondering if their Mac PTPblishing software actually handles the burning any different when using the DVD Video choice. For example is it less reliable to generate a disc .img on HD from DVDSP and then use that as the source file? I'm guessing I can't incorprate DVD-ROM folder content if I use the PTPublisher DVD video option?
