Does a canapus procoder demo exist? I want to try before dropping 500 bucks.

I don't think that exists, however you could contact them to ask, perhaps
it is only on a "asking basis". However, there is also a ProCoder Express for $59.95: http://www.canopus.us/US/products/pr...er_express.asp It is strange they are not offering demos on the website.

They used to about a year ago. I downloaded it. Its only limitation other than 30-days was it would only encode 5 minutes of material. I liked it, but when I compared it to other clips I had encoded I picked mainconcept instead due to much lower price and few high motion artifacts.
