Dual Layer DVD-R
This new DVD-R DL drive that was just anounced (panasonic I believe) - Will the dual layer dvd-r's be more compatible with consumer dvd players than the current dual layer dvd+r's?
I've heard the compatibility with the DVD+R DL's is about 30%.

i dunno bout 30%, i dont bother due to current costs.. i only use DL discs for archiving purposes.
as for the -r DL burner, pioneer just released their 109/a09 unit/ As for compatibility, it really depends on how the disc was authored, some apps just chop the disc into 2 with 4.3gb is reached (such as Nero and Endore) , while others require YOU to allocate a layer point like Maestro and that dvd authoring app for Mac which i cant recall now..
