DVD - Playability- Dubai and or Pakistan
Hi All,
I am creating some DVD's for a client who splits his residence and works traveling between Dubai (UAE) ad also in Pakistan.. The video was shot in the US using NTSC cameras.. So my question is if we author the DVD's using NTSC as our video type.. and we set the Region Code to none.. Will this DVD play in a DVD player in these countries ?? Anyone travel or live there wh can shed some light on this ?? Thanks in advance.. |

Both countries are on PAL standard (easy to find using Google).
Still, not so easy to answer your question. Some DVD players will not care what you feed them, and will put out in the country's standard; some TVs will play everything. The keyword is "some"... that means not all. So in reality, you don't know until your client inserts the disk into the player. I have reports from PAL land both ways... I would play safe and author both an NTSC and a PAL disk and explain to client that if NTSC works, quality will be higher, but if not, at least he will be able to watch in PAL. |
