HD compression codec quality discussion...

Hey all,

I could not find a HD compression thread, so I decided I'd start one. I hear a lot about h.264 on this site, but there are a lot more codecs out there. I've downloaded a few WMV HD clips off of microsofts website, and they really do look incredible.

So what does everybody think. Right now I'm posing the debate over WMV HD vs h.264. But feel free to add any more codecs you like.

WMV vs H.264 (or AAC if your using sony vegas).
I've rendered the same clips with both formats, and i can honestly say i can't really see much difference qualitywise.
However,H.264 seems to be around twice the size mb per min as WMV.

Paul.
