Bluray/HD-DVD US Compatibility

Apologies if this has been asked before...

I am considering setting up a production company which will produce programmes on BD or HD DVD as well as SD DVD to UK spec (1080/50i and 576/50i). There might be some scope to export these to the US - can anyone tell me if 50i discs will play on typical US combinations of player and display, and if there is any quality degradation compare with 60i?

Many thanks,

Nick

BD 50I disk will not play in the US BD disk player. It have to be 60i and the quality of the conversion from 50I to 60I is very close in picture quality.

HV DVD does not come in the 50i flavor worldwide.
