Astrodesign HD Uncompressed Hard Disk Recorder
I found this on Astrodesign's website. I only found one reference to it on this site, so I thought a link to their product may be helpful. I have yet to find pricing information.
Astrodesign's HR-7401 is an HD Uncompressed Hard Disk Recorder. The model is HR-7401. Recording time is "up to 30 minutes" in dual-link RGB 4:4:4 mode or up to 60 minues in 4:2:2 mode. The internal disk drives are packaged to allow quick removal and insertion of a new set. This is a relatively compact unit but not camera mountable as it weighs 12kg (with the power supply unit). The power can be powered directly by 12/24 volt dc or 100 to 240 Volts AC 50/60 Hz with the modular power supply. http://www.astrodesign.co.jp/images/.../000133_16.pdf Brochure: http://www.astrodesign.co.jp/images/.../000133_17.pdf

Mmmm... As they are using Fibre Channel technology (also used in high-end servers and storage networks) my guess is this solution will be pretty expensive.
Pretty useful in a studio environment but I wouldn't want to carry that with me on location. |
