Video Forum free seminars

Video Forum exhibition, which will take place on 6 – 9 February at Earls Court, London is once again holding free seminars throughout the event.

This year Showreel magazine will be hosting seminars as follows:

Tuesday 6 February @11.20am – DIY Indie Success

Showreel technical editor Clive Collier shot, edited, graded, scored, animated, DVD authored and sold a successful documentary – all on his own. Here he explains how he did it. A must for all indie filmmakers in need of inspiration.

Tuesday 6 February @ 14.20pm – Pushing HDV to the Limit

HDV boasts great quality coming off the chip, but bugged by heavy compression when being laid to tape. Technical guru Phil Rhodes discusses the alternative and demonstrates the data recorder he has built.

Wednesday 7 February @ 11.20am – That’s a Wrap

Showreeel has been following the making of Alto Films indie horror feature, Credo – a low budget film that has been shot, graded and edited on high-end digital equipment. The director, cinematographer and others talk about the experience.

If you are interested in attending any of these sessions you can register on the day.

Hope to see you there

And the great Larry Jordan is coming over to speak...

----------

Agoura Hills, CA (January 9, 2007): Internationally-renowned editor, director, and trainer Larry Jordan will speak at Video Forum 2007 at Earl's Court in London on February 6 & 7, 2007. He will be comparing DVCPro-HD and HDV video formats on February 6th and working with P2 MXF Files in an all-digital work flow on February 7th.

"I am delighted to be presenting with Panasonic at VideoForm 2007," said Jordan. "The integration of Final Cut Studio with their P2 camera presents a wealth of opportunities for directors and editors. However, it has created an entirely different way of working with media that can cause problems if you don't understand it. If an editor is new to tapeless acquisition, our session is the perfect place to get the answers they need to stay current with this hot new technology."

Jordan is in Great Britain and Ireland for his 'Power Up Seminar' tour. Jordan will present in Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol and Dublin. He will be showcasing Final Cut Studio, the editing software suite comprised of Final Cut Pro 5, Motion 2, LiveType 2, DVD Studio Pro 4 and Soundtrack Pro. This production suite is widely recognized as the professional choice for high-performance digital nonlinear video and film editing. He will be in each city for two days, presenting 'Optimize Your Editing with Final Cut' the first day and 'Mastering Final Cut Studio' the next.
