I am unsure, but I think I read elsewhere the bluray Hitachi is a couple of years away, but this article does not mention that and has other information. Can anybody confirm?

Hitachi wants to incorporate a Blu-ray burner that would use 8-centimeter disks, the two executives said. Those drives and the disks that would go in them do not exist yet; the companies involved in Blu-ray are currently fleshing out the specifications for an 8-centimeter Blu-ray drive.

What will be about the prize of the new Panasonic AVCHD ?

It also seems to have a 13 MBits/sec mode.
Does it also do 24p ?
Also 50i ?

Also 720p ?

What is the exact model type number ?

2. Is there already any news about these Hitachi HD camcorders ?
They look pretty nice and small, maybe something better than the Sanyo
XActi HD1 ?
Are these also AVCHD camcorders ?
Many thanks.

Regards, Stefan.
