Multi-format high-definition DVDs

Sorry if this has been posted before - I haven't seen it anywhere.

Quote:
According to documents filed with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, the multi-format DVD would store data in competing high-definition Blu-ray Disc and HD-DVD formats on one side and standard DVD or CD data on the other side, enabling it to be read by any DVD player.
