That should allow 1080 30p or 30i
That and other articles talk about 8 megapixels still (ho hum!) and 2 megapix at 30fps (!) thats 1080 HD. You'd hope that would be going onto hard disc, perhaps in the Cineform variable bit rate intermediate! (hint hint)

Nothing mentioned in that article was a breakthrough of any kind... It would only be impressive if they're going to fit that level of sensor in a cell phone or other similar sized device. But the article didn't specify that...
