I was impressed by the SED and OLED screens at the Canon Global Expo. They were very bright and vivid, exhibited no ghosting, and had an angle of view as wide as CRTs. Or course they also were displaying them in optimal conditions. None the less, it's an exciting technology. I have a feeling most HD sets in the future will probably be SED.
FWIW: Here are some pictures. The large SED display was hooked up to an XL H1, the smaller OLED is on a Canon DSLR

OLED and PHOLED and lifetime
The industry and various companies have been persuing this for some time (ticker PANL) and lifetime is a big issue. If your home bigscreen only lasted 2000 hours you would be upset
