Re: GoPro Hero 5 and Karma Drone are a thing now.
Paulo... I pretty much guarantee if they could have released it a year ago, they would have. :)
Scuttlebutt is that they've been struggling to get that thing off the ground for several years... See what I did there... Get that thing... OFF THE GROUND? I kill me...

Re: GoPro Hero 5 and Karma Drone are a thing now.
I feel so bad for GoPro. They have tried so hard with the Karma and are desperately counting on it. They had high expectations for it only to have DJI crap all over it last week.
I imagine that morale the DJI offices today are pretty down. GoPro's camera market is shrinking without a hot selling drone for the Christmas, I'm sure the (new) forecast for them wont good. So what can GoPro do now? They cant add DJI's obstacle avoidance to that Karma in the next year. Do they drop the price of the Karma? I'm guessing that is all they have left now. If so, how much? What do YOU think would be a new price tag that would make it successfully compete against the DJI Mavic? Sorry GoPro,...there goes your profit margin on the Karma! CT :-( |

It's not all tit for tat on basic functionality. Who has better customer support, DJI or GoPro? What about ease of use? Does Karma have geofencing that interferes with accomplishing your mission (given you are part 107 and in Class G airspace)?
