Panasonic teams with Codex for Episodic Market at DVinfo.net

Not sure if many of you have checked out the new Varicam Pure? Panasonic told me that it will retail for less than $49k, a huge price cut from when Panasonic was showing the separate Codex back at the Varicam roll out in LA about a year ago, they obviously want to pick up sales of the original Varicam and they want to make inroads into episodic with the Codex workflow. Supposedly offers some new codec options that are not much larger than Prores 444.

Interesting development.
