Re: Red Scarlet-W
Meanwhile, at the same price range as the Raven, We have Sony still locked to 3840x2160 30fps.
It's the worst thing, cause the PXW-Z100 had an awesome backend, but a crap cell phone sensor. And now the PXW-FS5 has the best front end, but a crap backend from a Alpha DSLR or the X70... Not to mention the menu lag issues with the FS7, F5 and F55... |

Re: Red Scarlet-W
according to the interview, Scarlet-W is to the Red Weapon, as the Scarlet is to the Epic. |

Re: Red Scarlet-W
Makes sense.
Come to think of it, I wonder if Red has a higher percentage of military sales than have other camera manufacturers. Their stuff certainly looks beefy and the NAB booth and marketing materials scream "toughness." Compare that to the plastic look of most cameras. When filming in a harsh environment, who doesn't want tough equipment? The "Weapon" name makes a lot of sense if that's a prime customer.

Re: Red Scarlet-W
Sorry, which Sony are you talking about in the same price range as the Raven?

Re: Red Scarlet-W
Yes, still wondering how much is the total cost do we have to pay if we want to get a minimal, but workable kit? Camera body, battery, viewing aids or a small LCD + a viewfinder, basic grip with basic control such as zooming, recording, a handle, and a, let's say Canon EF mount?

Re: Red Scarlet-W
better in camera raw, + prores, higher resolution, higher frame rate ( not sure about DR) and of course unique red option of trade in in the future.
