JVC 4K camera
How'd we miss this? JVC's version of a consumer 4K camera.
This is the PX100 with the firmware allowing 4K capture. It's obviously a prototype, but the real one will sell for less than $2,000. The Sony AX100 has some competition. JVC 4K Camera for “Under $2,000″ on Display at CES 2014 |

Don't forget that Panasonic is planning the next GH series camera for sometime next month.

Re: JVC 4K camera
Glen,
Canon always comes dead last when the major companies try something new. I recall when JVC and Sony started releasing their HDV cameras, Canon was the last to enter the fray. Of course, depending on what you are looking and how much you are willing to spend, it's usually a case of saving the best for last. I recall Canon releasing the XL-H1 after Sony already had the FX1, Z1, HC1, A1 and JVC had the HD1, HD10, and HD100. I expect Canon won't release a 4K cam until sometime either much later this year or early next year. |
