Sony is fighting back. Patent infringement, they want RED to stop making cameras!

Stop all this waste of precious financial resources.

All this can be used to keep pushing the envelopes as they all have been doing for the past 15 years.

As someone who's been thru many, no one wins in a lawsuit.

I guess they want their customers to feel that it's safe to invest in Sony cameras. Maybe Sony's end game is a back room deal to drop both companies law suits.

The backroom deal to end the lawsuits happened before with Sony and a haptic feedback company. The Playstation 3 did not launch with a rumble function because of the lawsuits, but they eventually settled and the Dualshock 3 was introduced.

Re: Sony now suing RED!

Nothing gives one perspective on the art of compromise like something to loose.

This is just another example of how these "games" are played. In the end business will continue on as usual and the lawyers will buy new cars and boats. The rest of us will likely never know it happened.

Move along now, Nothing to see here.

Except that all their lawyers fees will eventually be paid by us.

Down the track their consumers will pay.

Sony announced this right in front of NAB too, be careful around their booths :)

Cheers.

Well they all get litigious from time to time, so the only way of avoiding subsidising any such legal costs is not to buy anything ever!
