New ALEXAs
ARRI introduces the new ALEXAs. They substitute all current models except for the basic one.
The new ALEXA is now called XT, and also includes the XT M, XT Plus and XT studio. They have the same sensor as the classic alexa. Then what's new? -They all sport the 4:3 sensor, so you can so anamorphic with any of them -SxS is replaced with a new XR 512MB card developed along with Codex, that allows RAW to be recorded direct in camera without requiring any external (and costly) recorder. This new card allows RAW up to 120fps. The cards can be easily ingested with a simple USB-3 reader. -ALEXAs can now have in-camera ND filters. The new IFM-1 brings up to 8 stops, from 0.3 to 2.4 -new improved and silent fan -120fps comes as standard with all models The good news for existing ALEXA owners is that all those features can be implemented to older ALEXAs. |

Re: New ALEXAs
I guess Alexa owners/rental agencies don't bother about price. However, for general knowledge how are they priced?

Re: New ALEXAs
Here's further information on Arriraw and the latest Alexa. http://www.codexdigital.com/arri
I gather the motorised internal ND filter feature is only on the Studio version. I guess that solves the problem with an optical V/F on a sunny day. The Aaton solves the same issue with a multi slot shutter. Last edited by Brian Drysdale; February 21st, 2013 at 06:22 AM. |
