New documentary, Side by Side, Film vs. Digital (with Keanu)
Yeah, Keanu Reeves, but this might be the most facinating documentary I will see this year:
‘Side by Side’ Trailer: Keanu Reeves Talks to Lynch, Cameron, Nolan, Soderbergh and More About Film and Video | /Film Scorsese, Nolan, Pfister, Lucas, Lynch, Rodriguez, Cameron, Fincher, Wachowskis, etc. I've been a proponent of digital since my old film school teacher (and producer) bought the VX1000 in 1995, Lucas' interview about digital acquisition and distribution in a 1996 Wired cover story, and when I heard about the rise in 97, 98 of digital. I bought an XL-1 in early 99 and never looked back. And yes, I shot on film (16mm) and was even a movie theater projectionist, splicing together 35mm prints! Heath

I'll now need to keep an eye out for this, looks like a good doc.
I do like the photo they have at the top of the article with a digital camera behind him (HPX170 or HMC150 is my best guess). I think it would've added an extra layer of art being self aware / irony / ...? if they shot everything on digital & film side by side as they made the piece & examined the process of creation as they examined the process of creation.

Looks ok. The skin tones were a little off and the falloff in the highlights was a little steep though.
