Re: Rode Introduces Two New Microphones – Built in Digital Recorder
Considering the NTG 3 is $700. I don't think the 1K price is unexpected. If this thing is done right, it really could make audio for DSLR shooting much, much better and super convenient. I'm hoping this thing has pots for headphone, mic and aux input levels. If it does, it will be worth every penny. And quality-wise it should blow the VideoMic Pro out of the water.

Re: Rode Introduces Two New Microphones – Built in Digital Recorder
Well it's a NTG-3 in a VM PRO body AND a solid state recorder in the one rig. It'll easily handle the DSLR chores .. but it is taking a while to appear after it was announced.
http://www.rodemic.com/news/announci...deo-microphone A mic and a recorder together need careful isolation. Cheers.

Re: Rode Introduces Two New Microphones – Built in Digital Recorder
No one seems to have picked up yet that the NTG-8 has slots on one side only, most all other shotguns have slots or vents on both sides.
After exhaustive tests the Rode crew found it didn't them, makes the body stronger too. Cheers.
