Phantom Flex (Forget Twixtor - this is what you need)

Interesting stuff if you really want those super high frame rates...

Phantom Flex camera slows down time, drops jaws with incredible 2,564fps slowmo footage (video) -- Engadget

And at only $3000 a day, who could say no?

Or get your very own for as little as $50,000!

Actually, it's going to be about £800/day to hire the basic unit and 5 primes here in the UK. I talked to the UK supplier on their stand at BVE in Earls Courts, London yesterday. They gave me a run down of the control unit/LCD pad and a full demo. Nice gear - although the control pad looks like it should be in a nursery!

All I need now is one of my hi-tech Cambridge corporate video clients to tell me they want something filmed in super slo mo and I'll be able to give it a go!

Phantom

These are amazing cameras, just shot with the even newer model, the v641. Incredible image quality even in low light. Shot an entire music video in high speed. Will post a clip when the edit is done.

Trailer for music video

Here is a trailer for a music video we just shot with the Phantom v641, very similar to the Flex. A collaboration with DP Tim Gill and producer Jody Schiesser. Features artist Jefferson Fox
