Ortustech (a joint venture between Casio and Toppan printing) has announced their full 1,920 × 1,080 HD panel coming in at a whopping ... 4.8 inches.

Wow...
I wonder how much it will help camera critical focusing to double the pix count on such a small screen from the current 1M to 2M? I'm thinking HD video cam LCD @ 3.5" or so.

Neat toy, but what's the price point? It would be wonderful to have as a production monitor, but if it costs $1K, well...

They're talking up how it's possibly going to be used for future displays on mobile phones. That sort of thing could give it an incredible economy of scale.
