Making Media Now 2009 takes place on June 5th (New England)
New England filmmakers will gather on June 5th for the Making Media Now 2009 conference at Bentley University in Waltham, Massachusetts.
Now in it's third year, this conference (which grew out of the annual Filmmakers Open Studios) has become the definitive annual conference for New England media professionals who want to refine their knowledge about the latest strategies for fund raising and distribution as well as keeping up with technology trends in today's changing media ecosystem. Filmmakers Collaborative is offering a $10 OFF coupon (code: mmn09bjrw) if you register before May 26th. For more information and to register, visit: filmmakerscollab.org/programs/making-media-now/ All of us in the media industry are dealing with a difficult climate brought on by the global economic crisis and we're all pinching pennies, however, we also have to look forward and invest in our future. Enter Making Media Now 2009 with keynote speaker Robert Greenwald (award-winning filmmaker and activist known for Walmart: the High Cost of Low Pricing, Iraq for Sale, Outfoxed, etc.) along with timely and relevant sessions including: Web 2.0: Engage Your Audience Using the Web (with Andy Carvin, National Public Radio's Senior Product Manager for Online Communities); Creative Funding Case Studies Models that Work (with Ruby Lerner, Creative Capital and Sheila Leddy, Fledgling Fun and Alyce Myatt, Grantmakers in Film and Electronic Media); Red Camera Shooting & Post Production (with Stephen Baldwin, Colorist for National Boston and Courtney Babin, National Boston and a Rule Broadcast representative); and many other sessions including unique one-on-one consultation opportunities and a fine-tuned vendor showcase. The conference is organized by Filmmakers Collaborative, a 501-3c non-profit organization dedicated to supporting filmmakers through fiscal sponsorship and professional development events like Making Media Now.
