seems like a lot of trouble/expense vs. just syncing copies of your work to the phone directly.

Slingbox on iPhone is a cool app, but for showing my own content, I want it local for reliability. I'd rather show the content than spend time explaining that the network connection is poor.
That said, being able to network when you realize that you don't have your content with you is a good thing.
