Great to see new features. I'd really like to see support for Sony's new "MP4" format from EX1 camcorders. I'm happy that MXF files are played directly with full audio.

Hey, I just tried version 0.92. It plays MP4 files with sound from WinXP. Preview is so easy now.

.92 is REALLY nice ... you can now use it to convert! ... it plays FLV files ... all kinds of other neat stuff, too!

Weird. It doesn't work for me at all on my HP laptop. Won't play anything, audio or video. Nothing, just a moving slider.

I still have an older VLC installed that works fine.

The new VLC shares the same preferences from the old version.

Same here. The new version doesn't work for me at all (Dell laptop running Vista Business).

They just updated it again... might try the newer version to see if that helps those
where the program is not playing....

We were using the older version to watch clips (no sound) with the EX1, back in May of this year. Of course, updates of the NLEs plus downloading the Sony free software apps helped with that, too.

If you're using an EX1, don't get 0.9.6 as it no longer plays EX1 MP4 files, at least on my WinXP machine. The latest that does work for me is 0.9.4 .
