Hi there,

In my long search for a camera that I can use as a second unit (handheld; along with my EX-1), I'm wondering whether I'd have more luck with this camera's footage (I edit in Avid, on a Mac, so could always transcode via iMovie first if I need to) than other AVCHD cameras...

From what I gather, the TG1 records in an .MTS file format... would this work out better for me than other AVCHD options?

Cheers, Malcolm

I doubt it'd be much better as far as editing goes....you'll need to use Voltaic or other program to get the files into an editable format......this reminds me of HDV a few years back all over again!!!!!!

I agree Sony's constant straying from industry media standards are annoying already.....SD cards are small enough- drop the MemoryStick already!

Probably wishful thinking, although they did drop the MS slot from their Alpha still cam line... and doesn't the Z7 use CF? Anything is possible... but Sony has a long history with their MS/MS DUO ( I think there's even a MS micro now...). I'd expect them to support and update it for a while.
