Having an online subscription with ConsumerReports I checked the above article against ConsumerReports.
Reality: The Panasonic Model HDC-SD-1 was not even mentioned.

Link:
http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/e...ings/index.htm

Note: Subscription needed.

The cameras they do pick out are:
MinDV: Canon ZR800, Panasonic PV-GS80, Sony DCR-HC28
DVD: Canon DC230, Hitachi DZ-GX5020A
HDD: Panasonic SDR-H18
Combo HDD + DVD: Hitachi DZ-HS300A

MiniDV: Canon HV10, HV20; Sony HDR-HC7
Flash: Pansonic HDC-SD1; Sony HDR-CX7; Sanyo VPC-HD2
DVD: Panasonic HDC-DX1; Canon HR10; Sony HDR-UX7

I have a subscription to both, which issue of the magazine is it, or was it only online?

Any pre-CES announcements about new mid-level camcorders?

There's still quite a gap between the top consumer models and the prosumer cams. I'd like to see something akin to the old GS400 - including zebras, focus and zoom rings, etc.

Hi George,

Sorry, my bad.

What I listed was for the Standard Definition Camcorders.
What you listed was for the High Definition Camcorders.

They are both there.
