PS3 will have DivX support
I’ve been saying for a long time that systems such as the X-Box 360, PS3 and PSP should have DivX compatibility and I have good news, the PS3 will indeed have it and although nothing is official from Microsoft, I bet they will include it in the 360. If they don’t, the PS3 will have gained a huge advantage. Besides it would be ironic that a company who is described as anti consumer would be the one to incorporate it in their system.
Now that the PS3 is finally getting DivX support, I’m hoping Sony tries to give it flash video support as well. http://www.tradingmarkets.com/.site/...20News/817096/ |

Paulo,
you are absolutely right. It is time now, that Microsoft really brings out an XBOX 360 with integrated HD-DVD drive and HDMI output and DIVX and AVCHD ( H.264) support as well, otherwise PS3 will soon lead the way ! If you have seen, what users are already doing with the PS3 and hacked Linux systems, there is one guy on Youtube, who can play 6 SD videostreams at the same time scaled in a video windows and 2 AVCHD-H.264 HDStreams at the same time ! Amazing PC power from this game machine ! |

This would mean Stage6 will become very popular with PS3 users.
However, if it has DivX and no XviD, you know there'll be complaints. |

The X-BOX 460 ends up having DivX support before the PS3 does.
http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/xbox-360-...ing-329769.php I sort of can’t blame them for being late because Sony is working hard to implement a lot of features that people are asking. They can’t just do it all at once; I mean they still have the higher Blu-Ray profile to implement. |
