After effect CW Denoiser with moving video ?
Hi guys,
I'm having a difficult problem in after effects, im trying to fix a underexpoxed clip and to compensate for the grain amount i use the denoiser function. It works great but in this scene a man jumps from a bridge and thats were things go wrong. The denoiser cant handle the movement. Thats why i like to ask you guys, is there a way to only aplly the denoiser the non moving background? Are there any other plugins that can do this ? Thanks in advance! Michaël |

I'm not sure about any plugins off the top of my head, but you should be able to create a mask and rotoscope the sky out of that clip. You could then replace the sky all together, or apply the de-noise effect to a duplicate layer showing the sky with the "Add Grain" effect to match both layers up... If that helps! Its probably a little more work than what you had in mind, but sometimes its required. Good luck!

Hi Michael,
There are many. I think I worked with, at least, 20 different but the very best so far was Neat Video. |

Hi Martin!
Well its just that this one costs 100 dollars, are there no cheaper ones. What else are good alternatives to neat video ? |

Noise ninja. Though I only tried the Photoshop plug-in version, and the workflow really sucks.
The pro version of it is likely what you want. Apparently the quality is better than neat video. |

Hi Glenn,
I looked at the website of noise ninja and can't seem to find a after effects, fcp or premiere plug in. It sees to only support photoshop. Is this correct ? Thanks! |

I just bought Neat Video Pro for Sony Vegas today.
If you have not tried this program, it does an excellent job of removing video noise without destroying the original or adding artifacts. The mid to low light footage from my JVC HD100 just stepped up in quality. I've tried other video noise reduction programs that added moton artifacts and blurring. I'm surprused I'm not hearing more about this program. |
