Creating Cartoon footage!!
Hi guys,
I am looking to make a small clip into cartoon. Dose anyone knows if there is a plugin for After Effects or editing softwares? I am currently using Vegas 7. Thanks again Matthew |

You can also export your footage from AE as a filmstrip and import it in Photoshop and use photoshop fx to make it look cartoonish with sketch effects en such. Then bring it back to AE and export as film.

u can go and grab the vegas/virtual dub frameserver which is free.. from there u can run the cartooniser filter which is availabel free.
More info can be found on the Vegas forums at sonys website... we all jsut went through this with some new V7 revelations.. lol they both work a treat, in addition to vdub giving you access to other plugins such as deshaker and old film |

NewBlue and SmartSmoother
I had some fun recently using Mike Crash's Smart Smoother in Vegas to create a smooth cartoon effect. Push the settings to the far right and experiment. That was in a fairly low light setting. Might be different in harsher light. Check out the screenshot.
Haven't tried these, but they look promising: NewBlueFX's Art Effects has Line Drawing and Metallic filters. VASST's Edge Detective might be another option. |
