Why does OpenGL acceleration under After Effects not work for me?
I have an XFX 6600GT (AGP, 128MB) which, according to Adobe's list of supported cards, is supposed to be supported by After Effects 7.0. Yet, when I enable OpenGL acceleration the computer grinds to a halt. It did not technically crash, but it slowed down to a point where I became fed up and rebooted. I do have the latest WHQL video driver installed.

I would advice you to contact Adobe's technical support. Since AE with OpenGL is just out you still have support on it. I doubt many people here have experience with such a new product yet to be able to help you diagnose such a "technical" problem.
Good luck!

Maybe you're right, but I want dvinfo to have all the answers! Heeding your suggestion, I am trawling through the Adobe forums.
