After Effects Render Farms...
I guess this applies to both the pc side and the dark side, but anyways, anybody setup a render farm here?
Share any experiences, reccomendations? Is it worth it for me? Do any NLE's support this as well. Anyways, I am very impatient, and have all these bits hanging around, it seems it is getting so cheap to setup systems, this may be something really worthwhile, and from I read, i can throw a MAC into the mix anytime i would like too. Anyways thanx for your help. kermie |

I've consulted a few clients on doing render farms for AE but I'm no expert. First off you need the production bundle version of AE. It supports network rendering, while the standard version does not. Some NLE's are supported by third party software. Automatic Duck is one that comes to mind http://www.automaticduck.com/products/index.html The way I've done it in the past is to set up an Ethernet Network.
Rather than write a book on the subject here is a good link http://www.hollywoodindustry.com/200...renderfarm.htm If you have any specific questions after that post back and I'll try to answer. Jeff |
