Help with 2D to 3D for Video
Hello,
I have been experimenting with adding some 3d titles and graphics to my video production work and would like to get some opinions about how to go about some of the work. I have the Adobe CS4 suite, so I would like to be able to pass any 3D artwork through Photoshop and on to After Effects for the video work. Here is my main problem I would like to ask for some help with: Clients often give me 2D artwork like a business logo or design. I would like to turn the 2D raster images into Vector images which can then be extruded into 3D models for painting etc... Is there a best practice to do this? I have tried tracing in Illustrator but don't know if there is a better way to work with 2D images for 3D work. And are there some easy programs you could suggest for this kind of simple task? I have worked with Lightwave but quite honestly, it was so complex that I did not have time to devote to learning it. Thanks! |
