How Do I Get This Effect??
the streaky type light thing where it looks as though the image is over exposed or something, but only at the top and edges and moving objects like at the begining with the hands, if you get what i mean
is it to do with the choice of lens or is it done in post? YouTube - KARDINAL OFFISHALL 'SET IT OFF' ft. THE CLIPSE (Official Uncensored Video) thanks |

The effect is actually a simulation of light damage spilled in from a improperly sealed film camera I believe from the top and bottom of the shutter.
Magic Bullet Looks can do that with the "shutter streak" portion of it's effect plugin very quickly and automatically. The same could be achieved with a grey/white solid masked with some streaky blobs feathered out and then use a add blending mode and tweak the opacity of the track a bit. Keyframing the opacity and mabey moving it around a bit and keyframing the masks. Hope that helps. All the best, James Hooey
