Speeding up a project clip in AE
So I have this template with which I'm working, and it's a 3 minute project.
I want to cut it down to 30 seconds. What's the best way to speed it up, yet retain all of the timing of all the components in the Comp? |

You can nest the comp (just drag it into a new comp) and "time stretch", there you can type in the length you want.
I had problems with this when doing a complex animation, where I could tell the things were a frame or half a frame out of sync -so things dissapeared for 1 frame on a cut. In this case I rendered an animation, and sped that up instead of the comp. |

Thank you, the nesting seems the most logical solution. Thank you, all contributors.
