iPhone Export
Hi!
I have a job coming up that will require the video to be exported to Quicktime for the iPhone. I really don't know much about codecs, formats, bit rates, etc. - could someone step me through exporting for iPhone from After Effects? Thanks! ~Dale |

Try digging around the iPhone section of Apple's support site. Within 30 seconds I found this link which says how to export video from iMovie for use on the iPhone... http://docs.info.apple.com/article.h.../en/10201.html

Ok, thanks. I will "dig around" the Apple site. How are instructions on iMovie going to help me with exporting from After Effects, though? :)

Dale, my point was that you should be able to find support information for the iPhone on Apple's site. You might find a clue to the correct format by looking at iMovie to determine what its iPhone preset uses.

I'd assume if you have after effects, then you might have premiere also...
if so, you can bring the footage into premiere and export via multimedia selection there.... at least thats how I did it for my sons Ipod... and it should work the same for the Iphone..... |

Ok, thanks guys!
Boyd, I assumed that that was your point. However, I don't have iMovie and don't have access to it either, so... Yes, Ray, I do have Premiere - I have the Production Premium Suite. Thanks for the tip: I'll check it out! Peter, I will do that if all else fails, but to have to spend $30 to get QT Pro when I could do the same thing from Premiere or AE and save the time rendering an intermediate QT file just goes against the grain. :) |
