AE 5.0 Compatible with Mac Pro?
I have an intel-based Mac Pro (OS 10.4.10), would Adobe After Effects 5.0 be compatible with my Mac Pro?
Here are the system requirements for After Effects 5.0 PowerPC processor (multiprocessor G4 recommended) Mac OS version 9.0.4, 9.1, or Mac OS X Classic 64MB RAM (128 MB or more recommended) 24-bit color display adapter Apple QuickTime 4.1.2 software Thanks in advance -Steve |

This version of after effects (ppc) won't work properly on an intel-based macpro system. It will run using a background application called "rosetta" but it WILL run slowly (since AE is in fact a heavy-duty application and shouldn't be run using emulation). Using parralel desktops or other emulation for windows won't speed up the process either. As far as AE goes I believe only CS3 is fit for universal (intel and ppc) use. Or completely booting (dualboot using bootcamp) to windows for a version that runs on windows.
