Have you looked at the nNovia Quick-Capture A2D? Don't have an personal experience with it but looks interesting.

Glad I could help. Here is a interesting article that compares several tapeless storage solutions.
http://www.emedialive.com/Articles/ReadArticle.aspx?CategoryID=30&ArticleID=8950 Page 3 talks about the nNovia QuickCapture A2D Another note is that the unit is available in different battery mounting configurations and one is a Anton Bauer mount. |

I believe Douglas Spotted Eagle has a couple of QuickCapture A2D's, you might write to him directly to get his opinion. If I'm not mistaken, he thinks quite highly of them.

nNovia QCDeck - has anyone seen this?
I saw a preview of this unit from this site:
http://www.gdbint.com.au/Product.aspx?pID=352&ptype=p I can't find much about it on the net but it looks so dreamy! Being able to swap out media drives and hdv support via firewire. Lots of cool features that I wish the firestore had. Does anyone know anything about this unit? |

Looking at the photo, it seems quite big. Not really something you can attach to the bottom of our camera and carry around with you. But I could be wrong.
The specs look impressive, although I've never heard of nNovia before. You'd want to test drive it before purchasing. Interesting never-the-less! |

nNovia quickcapture
The nNovia A2D does capture DV via firewire.
I have been doing it for two years. Works good. |

Nnovia Quick Capture hard drive
Hello,
I know that with the FS-4 you can open it up, put in a larger laptop hard drive, and void your warranty. Is it possible to do this with the Quick capture? Thanks, Luke :^)
