New Firmware 2016.10

Dear Friends,

We posted a significant new firmware release yesterday, including our Titan Option, and support for Raw from the Panasonic Varicam LT and Apple ProRes Proxy mode.

http://www.dvinfo.net/forum/digital-...re-posted.html

One of our customers has already started testing our Titan Option, and he loves it. He reports that he will be using it for his interviews and calls it a "Game Changer".

The Titan Option, for the Odyssey7Q, Odyssey7Q+ and Apollo adds the ability to record three windows from a 4K or Ultra-HD Source, from Sony FS5 Raw, Sony FS7 Raw or Sony FS700 Raw.

Also, most 4K / Ultra-HD non-raw cameras can be used also, just be certain that your device can accept the 4K/Ultra-HD signal. The Odyssey7Q+ has support for HD-SDI 6G and HDMI in 4K and Ultra-HD and the Odyssey7Q does not.

This is a very significant feature, as now, one can use one 4K/Ultra-HD and record three HD windows.

Window 1 is the full Ultra-HD image

Window 2 can be a 1080p or 720p extraction and this is moveable while recording.

Window 3 is another window as above.

Thus, one can isolate two areas while recording, plus record the full Ultra-HD area, all in High Quality HD.

For Sports, if the source is above 30 fps, then Windows will be in 720p50, 720p59.94 or 720p60.

Re: New Firmware 2016.10

Does this mean partial HFR support has made it in? What about 1080p60 preview on the OLED in 720p60? And output of 720p60 out the 1.5G SDI outs?

Re: New Firmware 2016.10

Dear Jack,

I need to check with our team, but I believe that the Odyssey has always supported 720p50, 720p59.94 and 720p60 (true 60.00 fps).

By Support meaning that we can accept these signals, process them, display them on our OLED Panel and output them.

I know of no restrictions, but I will check.

Respectfully,

Yes, that's fine and all, but that means I still need an external scaler for HFR preview, and that means the device is unable to record native resolution and monitor HFR at the same time. I just checked, no HFR monitoring support in 1080i or 1080p.
