Odyssey Spot Meter (New Feature
Dear Friends,
Our latest firmware upgrade, 2015.11, adds significant new features. One of these is our Spot Meter. This feature is now available for the Odyssey7, Odyssey7Q and Odyssey7Q+. The Spot Meter shares the bottom menu space with the Zebras feature. If you see Zebra on the bottom menu, just press and hold Zebra, then you can select Spot Meter. ------------------ The Spot Meter is a comprehensive feature with many options. To see and select these options, please press and hold the Spot button, on the bottom menu, then the Spot Meter dialog box will appear. Mode Check 1, Compare 2 and Check 8. This spot may be moved around by touching it and moving it as desired. Check 1 is a single spot meter which displays, for the one spot, Luma, Red, Green and Blue values. Compare 2 presents two spots on the display (which can be moved as desired) and a graphic with important information on both spots, including a large swatch of color for both spots so that they can be easily compared, and a bar graph. (We are currently preparing a video which will show all of these features) Check 8 provides 8 spots, each of which can be moved around as desired. -------------------------------------- Spot Size Options are 1x1, which is one Pixel, 8x8, which is a large spot, and 16x16 is even larger. When more than 1 pixel is selected for the Spot Size, the pixels in the spot are averaged. ----------------------- Graph Mode In the Compare 2 mode, the graphic includes a bar graph of the Luma, Red, Green and Blue values. Select A, B to see a bar graph of the A and B values side by side. Select A-B to enable a bar graph that compares the values of A and B. This modes shows the differences between A and B. ---------------------------- Values This option allows you to customize the values that the Spot Meter displays. Your choices are 8-Bit, 0 to 255 values, 10-Bit, 0 to 1023 values, and IRE values -7 to +109. We have had many positive comments about our new spot meter, so please check it out. This is a very useful tool so I hope you will become familiar with it. Respectfully,
