Odyssey 7Q+ and firmware 2015.7

Has anyone else lost the ability to zoom 2:1?
Now that I "upgraded", I can only go from default to 1:1
Then I found out if I kept my finger on it the zoom menu would come up
where I could adjust it up to 12:1 in a little second window.

Also the recorder shut off before my normal 3 hours and was very hot
Is this a known issue?
Should/can I downgrade to firmware 2015.5 or will there be a fix?

Re: Odyssey 7Q+ and firmware 2015.7

Dear Roger,

When you press and hold the Zoom button, you have your choice of 1:1 or 2:1 Zoom as in earlier releases.

Previously, you pressed once for 1:1 and again for 2:1 and then again to turn off the zoom.

Now, pressing the Zoom button toggles the zoom mode you have selected.

You have your choice of:

1:1

2:1

And the new Hyper Zoom Modes of:

4:1

6:1

8:1

10:1

12:1

With Hyper Zoom you get to zoom into a specific area of the image, which you select by moving your finger around on the OLED Panel.

----------------

The Odyssey can get very warm without causing any damages.

If the Odyssey is lying flat, or does not get any air circulation then it will get hotter than when it is in a normal vertical position.

You can see the internal temperature of the hottest part of the Odyssey by reading the temperature gauge in the upper menu, second item from the left.

If the Odyssey starts to get too hot, you will see a warning message.

Respectfully,

Dan Keaton

Re: Odyssey 7Q+ and firmware 2015.7

The overheating only happened once and I will never know why.
I normally have The 7Q+ mounted vertically on the side of my TriPod leg.

And, I have the monitor set to zoom 2:1 or single push to full screen.
I liked the options better on the old firmware.
The other increased zooms are in too small of a partial window for my weak eyes although I do see advantages to using them.

Re: Odyssey 7Q+ and firmware 2015.7

Dear Roger,

On the previous firmware, pressing the Zoom button went from Normal, to 1 to 1 zoom to 2 to 1 Zoom, then back to normal.

Since we added Hyperzooms, 4 to 1, 6 to 1, 8 to 1, 10 to 1 and 12 to 1, use now use a different method.

You first select your desired zoom ratio, by pressing an holding the Zoom button, until the pop-up menu is displayed, then select your desired zoom ratio.

Then press the Zoom button quickly to turn the Zoom function on and off.

You still have the 2 to 1 Zoom available for your use.

Respectfully,
