GH4 monitoring
Hi,
This is my first post regarding anything 7Q so please forgive my ignorance! Can someone help me please? I wish to record on my GH4 internally (the 4K specifically) and monitor that image coming out of the camera via HDMI to the 7Q. I do not want to record on the 7Q There is a clean image on the monitor at a system frequency Cinema24 but not at 59.94Hz or 50Hz. Is there a trick I'm missing? Many thanks! Jesse |

Re: GH4 monitoring
Dear Jesse,
Your first post is fine! The Odyssey7Q's HDMI input is limited to up to 1080p30, thus 1080p23.98, 1080p24.00, 1080p25, 1080p29.97 and 1080p30 are supported. 1080p50, 1080p59.94 and 1080p60 are not supported via HDMI. 4K over HDMI is not supported. The key question is whether the GH4 can record 4K internally, and output an HD signal over HDMI. I am sorry, but I am traveling right now and do not know the answer. In working with a customer this month, we found that the GH4 was only outputting 1080p24 and 1080p60, even when the camera was in 1080p30 mode. Panasonic tech support hinted that this may change via a firmware update. Respectfully,
