How are you storing the 7q drives, cases?
Has anyone worked out a proper way to store these drives? I only own one and I bought it used from B&H And I was a little surprised that the drive just shipped naked, no case or anything. Is this just because I bought it used? Or is this common either way how are you guys transporting the drives so as not to risk electrostatic shock or anything like that?
Also I saw the case that will be released soon by CD for the 7/7q at NAB it looks great but lacks a place to store the drives, does anyone have some case suggestions? Or did u miss the topic in the previous posts?

I have 2 and just leave them in the monitor unless they are being downloaded.

Don't know about the SSDs but the Samurai Blade caddies fit nicely in the old Panasonic DVC Pro 126 tape cases. Also use the 60 min ones for wireless lapel mics and AA batteries. In fact the old small SP Betacam cases comes in handy if you need cheap cases for odds and ends. Bit of tape or a stout rubber band and you are away.

Here is an opportunity for someone to produce a small compact dense foam padded case that holds the cable, the monitor and spare drives.

Re: How are you storing the 7q drives, cases?
Dear Dave,
We now offer such a case, and it includes anti-static foam. The case is designed such that many popular accessories may be left on the unit. We are moving into a new building today, and I do not have a photo of this case yet. Respectfully,

Re: How are you storing the 7q drives, cases?
Dear Dave,
Today, Mitch Gross produced a video showing our new accessories. We will attempt to get this new video up on our website next week. We have moved into our new building over the last few days. Our team still has a lot of unpacking to accomplish, but we are fully moved from our old building. Our new building has a manufacturing area that is much larger than our old facility. Respectfully,

BMD sell SSD cases (they look similar to DV cases but fit the bare drives better) for about $5 but I think with the handle on the CD drives mean you'll need a custom case. Could only find a 10 pack on BandH..
