Recording functions

What will be the difference between the HD recording function that comes with the 7Q and the HD functions that will be available in the future? Thank you.

Re: Recording functions

The next FW is supposed to have 10bit 422 "popular codec" (ProResHQ I think) so yes there will be a better way then the huge files currently produced. The FS700 only outputs 8bit so you will only get 8bit from this camera, similar to what the NanoFlash now records from the FS700.

And at some point if you have the FS700 upgrade from Sony and the CD FS700 option. There will be 422 10bit down sampled from 4K in this "popular codec". This should be a huge improvement.

Dan, correct me if I got that wrong. But this is my understanding at this time.
