New Axtremex 128 GB CompactFlash Cards
Dear Friends,
Many have been using the Axtremex 128 GB 600x CompactFlash Cards with their nanoFlashes. Axtremex has updated their cards to the 800x level (from 600x). These new cards have been tested in the nanoFlash at 280 Mbps and work well. Please note that these tests were performed by nanoFlash.net. Convergent Design has not had time, yet, to offically certify the cards, but they passed the demanding 280 Mbps test with no problems. They also work in the XF100/105 and XF300/305 and C300 series cameras. The new Axtremex cards have been certified to the VPG 20 level. VPG stands for Video Performance Guarantee and VPG 20 is the highest level of the VPG specs. These cards support up to UDMA 7 (in devices that support UDMA 7) and in other UDMA modes in other devices. nanoFlash.net is one place to purchase these cards, and they have sold the initial batch. The second batch is due in approximately 10 days. Using large capacity cards in the nanoFlash is attractive to some, as this eliminates one from any worry if they are going to run out of space. At 50 Mbps, two 128 GB cards allow for approximate 10 hours and 40 minutes of recording. At 100 Mbps, 5 hours and 20 minutes is available.
